Dental Tips

Brush teeth lightly when waking up in the morning, and fully before going to bed.
If you eat lots of grains/sugar junk, and your teeth feel disgusting, then brush another time before a meal.
It's better to brush before meals than after.

Use baking soda instead of toothpaste. This soda has health benefits and lasts way way way longer than a tube of toothpaste. No fluoride, either.

I use: toothbrush, baking soda, floss, and a tongue scraper.

A snapped or sawed-off toothbrush can fit in a pouch easily.

They say a green branch chewed also works well as a toothbrush. If you don't have a toothbrush due to being out camping, you can try the green branch/twig trick.

Finally, plaque will build up eventually, especially on the back of the bottom 4 teeth (or any favorite spot you miss every time). To remove plaque, use a cheap set of metal dental picks and scrape it off manually. My dentist always left my gums bloody after doing this himself, but when I do it it's basically pain-free and blood-free.
Instead of a potentially expensive dental visit, you have cleaned your teeth with a sub-$10 tool.

That's all, folks!
